Heini Granberg, MA, is a costume and stage designer with over twenty years of experience in the performing arts, film, and television. Her designs for costumes and stage sets include more than 40 productions across various disciplines, including theatre, circus, dance, performance, film, and television. Additionally, she lectures on scenography to students at all levels of education, leads art education workshops for young children and their families, and facilitates performance events for young audiences.

Her doctoral research at Aalto University focuses on scenography in the Theatre for Young Audiences, examining child-centred methods for designing scenography with and for pre-school-aged children. Through practice-based phases, her artistic research utilises the potential of scenographic materiality in immersive and participatory performances to engage children on multiple sensory levels. Her study aims to gain a deeper understanding of how young children engage with the scenographic environment of a performance and to evaluate the effects of involving young children in the design process.
